9th and final layout

Working with the May kit at Scrapbook Kit club, this was my favourite layout of the bunch.
The expression of Memphis' face is priceless..she looks so unimpressed:)
I took the backing from the chipboard butterfly, and used it as a stencil to chalk around the edges. This way I was left with pink outlines of a butterfly.
I cut some decorative strips from the Pink Paislee packaging, and curled them to make them look like the butterfly antennae.

Layout #8 "dream more"

This layout was a lot of fun to work on... I wanted to fit 9 pictures on here, so I put 6 along the bottom of the layout, one in a cloud, and 2 as the sun.
I journaling in one of the clouds
I trimmed scrap paper into long, thin strips, rolled them up and adhered them to the wave design.
I know Ive mentioned this before, but I really love Helmar adhesive because it holds ANYTHING!! Once I applied it to the paper rolls, they stayed in one place.
Thanks for looking.

snow is gone

Look at little miss Memphis, enjoying the sunshine..well okay, technically she was waiting for me to let her in the house. She likes being outside(if someone is with her) otherwise she waits impatiently to be able to come back inside with us..lol

spoiled

When Kimmy told me she was sending me a goodie for loving her doe doe birds so much, I didn't think she would spoil me like this...she send me THREE doe doe birds, and a star too!!!! WOW!!!!
Thank you so much Kimmy!!!! You rock!!!!

A new look

Well for the first time in 30 years, I decided to do something drastic and dye my hair dark.
I like the colours that my friend/hairdresser picked out..I just need to let them grow on me a little bit longer.

Layout #7

With Mother's Day being this month, I wanted to create a layout about going to the cemetery on Mother's day, where my Mom is buried.
I placed the letter stickers for my title near the top of the page, and using PEBBLES chalk, I chalked around the letters, then removing them, so it looked as though the title was "floating" in the sky, near the clouds.
I used my scalloped square punch so I could use a few different pieces of paper, without it looking too busy.
and look...a Doe doe bird....Isnt it cute??

Layout #6

Another layout using the fab May kit from Scrapbook Kit club.
I was glad to find paper that finally worked with these pictures of Si sleeping on the floor.
I added pom pom trim to the bottom of each cloud, and a big brad to the sun.
For my title, I applied letter stickers, and rubbed my ink pad over the letters, then removing the letters, to reveal the look.
Thanks for looking!!

Layout #5

Layout "ur job"
I think this is the most pictures I have ever used on one layout(a total of 11 pictures)
It took me awhile to figure out how to place all of the pictures on here, but I wanted the batting pictures to be in a sequence, so it was a total play by play.
Thanks for looking.
Check back tomorrow for another layout using the May kit from Scrapbook Kit club.

Layout #4

"Happy biker 09"
Have i mentioned lately how much I love the may kit from Scrapbook kit club:)
I love it when it takes less then 20 minutes to finish a layout.
i added a few buttons to the design, covered the chipboard butterfly with Zing embossing powder(but didnt set with heat tool)
This is the summer where I am hoping, Si will grab the bull by the horns and have the desire to ride his bike a LOT(and without those silly training wheels)

Layout #3

Here is the 3rd layout I did, using the May kit from www.scrapbookkitclub.com
I used all Pink Paislee products on this layout titled "lol"
I hand cut 4 butterflies from the patterned paper, folded them at the "body" so the wings appear to be flying, and adhered using pop dots.
Thanks for looking!!

Layout #2

The second layout using the may kit from www.scrapbookkitclub.com
I wasnt sure what to do with the big flowers on the Pink Paislee paper, so i cut 3 full flowers out, tore and crumpled them, and then after layering them together, I used a brad to attach them at the center.
I chalked around the edges of the cardstock.
Stay tuned for the 3rd layout tomorrow

New Pebbles Inc

Have you seen the two new collections from Pebbles Inc?? The first one is called "lil' miss" and features gorgeous colour combos.
The second one is called"lil' buddy" and is geared towards baby and toddler boys. This is the only sneak I have seen of it so far, but it is due to be released this month.
I can't wait to get my hands on both collections! Have I mentioned that I love Pebbles???

a Toot!!!!

YAY!! I was asked to be a part of the design team over at Crazy Daisy Kit Co.
I am thrilled to work alongside some amazing talent. My fellow dt'ers are JJ Sobey, Grace Tolman, Kim Whitten and Jackie Laing.
Starting june, you will see our designs on their blog(and here of course)
head over to www.crazydaisykits.com/blog/

"from our home to yours"

This is the second card I made using the may kit from www.scrapbookkitclub.com
I layered the chipboard house and flourish, and applied the heart rubon to the window of the chipboard house.
I love the little clouds on the Fancy Pants ribbon, so I hand cut 3 of them, to use as the sky background.
I also went with "215" over the door because that is my house number
Thanks for looking!!!
Don't forget to check back tomorrow to see project #3 using the May kit.
Hurry and head to the store to grab your kit, before they sell out..and remember...anyone who buys a kit before the end of the month will be eligible to win a RAK from me.

Hello

I received the may kit from www.scrapbookkitclub.com on Thursday, so I spent a lot of time this weekend working on it. By the time I was done this afternoon, I had completed 9 layouts and 2 cards.
So to fill in the time until the June kit is released, I am going to post a project on my blog for the next 11 days(and hopefully this will make you really love the kit, and head over to the online shop to pick one up for yourself)
Card #1 "Hello"
I applied the rubon onto a piece of white paper, trimmed the bird out and adhered to the cardstock, using a pop dot.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love Helmar adhesive? I won some from my friend Marci awhile back, and Im hooked..this is the only adhesive I have used that really adheres EVERYTHING!!! I used it for the trim, and buttons on this card.
See you tomorrow!!!!

Mothers day Project

I saw something similar, and thought what a great idea for a gift.
I made one for my )step) mom, Robs sister in law, and for Si' teacher and EA in the class(Dont tell them though, because they only get theirs at the end of the school year)
Each project took about 20 minutes to make.

better late then never..right??

Well I know I am a few days late to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day, but its the thought that counts right??
It was nice to be able to spend the day with the most important women in my life..My (step) Mom and my Grandma(and of course the guys too)
We had a rib dinner at My Dads, and then the 3 of us went to the cemetery where Rob's mom is buried, and then to the cemetery where my Mom is buried.
Even as an adult, i find it difficult not having my Mom in my life, but at least I am fortunate to have other fabulous women as a great example to me.
I was spoiled as well that morning, with a breadmaker, The Hills season 4 dvd, and some awesome homemade things that Si made for me..The best part was that Rob cleaned the kitchen for me, and Si made sure he cooked lunch for me too;
I hope all you terrific women out there had an equally terrific Mothers Day too.

( oh no..sorry Yvonne..that your pic ended up sideways)

Pebbles Loven'

Imagine my delight when I heard that Pebbles Inc is accepting applications for their design team.
I absolutely heart Pebbles Inc..especially their patterned paper and chalk.
Can you imagine how amazing it would be to work with their products all the time;
Here are 2 layouts and 1 card I made this week, for the call.
Wish me luck;;

my turn to blog

Today is my day to post on my Stamp BOX blog.
This month, i talked about stamping directly on photograph
I have included 2 of the layouts in this post, but to see my other 2 layouts, along with what my fellow dters have been up go check it out...

http://www.mystampbox.com/blog

pics of my kids(1 human, 1 furry) LOL

Its been a while since I have posted pictures of Si & Memphis, so I just wanted you to have prove that they both still do exist;
Memphis will be 1, in exactly one month..She knows a lot of tricks, understands a lot of what we say, loves car rides, walks, and cuddles(She is very affectionate, and loves to be held) she sleeps a lot, and usually only gets hyper when there are people to greet.
The negative.....is getting yappier(ugh) and still often pees when she greets new people, from all the excitement i guess.
All in all, Memphis is a terrific dog & can't imagine not having her.
Si is now 5 and a half years old(please, can't he just stay this age? I hate that he is growing up soooo fast)
He is doing really well in Kindergarten, but still loves his time when he doesnt have to go to school, says he is going to be an art teacher when he grows up(which i believe, because he is incredibly artistic) He spends most of his time drawing pictures, and has been teaching himself to read...He can read some entire books already.
He got a new bike, and we told him that this is going to be the summer where he will master his bike, and get rid of those silly training wheels.
He is still VERY VERY attached to his Nana & Poppa, and would spend all of his time with them, if it were possible.
He has started t ball(and loves it) his highlight is getting his baseball pants dirty(thats his goal)
and next month, I will register him for swimming lessons.
He can be a loud mouth when theres other people around, but when its just us, he is amazing....Very well behaved, independent and low maintenance..still a good sleeper too.
next on his list....learn to tie shoes.

This is Amber's first kit and it features Fancy Pants 'on a whimsy' and Pink Paislee "enchanting"
I am definetly ordering this kit sometime this week, because I love every aspect of this kit.
I love that its trendy yet very original, has a lot of great supplies packed in the kit, and seriously..how cool is it that She will be featuring an etsy artist in every kit(This month it is Kimberly DuBois, with her doe doe birds) May kit: 12 sheets of double sided patterned paper, 1 fabric flower, i package cardstock 118 count alpha stickers, 1 yard white ball trim, assorted buttons, assorted chipboard shapes, 1 handmade doe doe bird $25

Now here is the fun part.....Because the kit club and forum have only been up and running since may 1st, I would like to encourage you to get out there and support this FANTASTIC new kit club(Also, after talking to Amber, the owner, we have discovered that we are like long lost sisters..with so much in common, its a lil eerie..and that in itself makes me want to see her succeed)
This company has a lot of new things in store, and I think this is going to be the NEXT kit club!!!
Here is how you can win an RAK from me(I like to save the RAk as a surprise, but trust me..it will be a good one...think new Prima, etc)

my Stamp BOX cards

At the MS fundraising crop I went to 2 weeks ago, there was a thank you card contest, and well when theres a contest, I have a pretty tough time not entering it..heheeheh
For the first thank you card, I used the set "oval office" by my Stamp BOX. I stamped it onto a scrap piece of cardstock, and then adhered to the card, using a pop dot.
I didnt add a whole lot to this card because the Basic Grey patterned paper, is quite busy already.

For my second thank you card, I used the alpha set "lots of dots" by my Stamp BOX, and stamped them on the inside of the card(I used a scalloped circle punch to make a window on the front of the card)
This card won 1st place in the contest!!!! and I won a Martha Stewart pack of her Halloween products
