a lil sad...

July 1/08
because I didnt make the top 20 at Paper crafts gallery idol.
In the scrapbooking world you definetly have to get used to rejection and hopefully handle it well.
I have never been truly bothered by this rejection before until this contest.
I worked my butt off to make 5 new cards with a friends theme, and I totally went off the page with some of them, so they would be original...well, I guess original wasn't what they were after because after checking out the top 20 cards, there were some pretty cool cards in there, but also some very plain jane basics that completely disappointed me, and made me wonder if I would have more success if I kept my style plain!! any suggestions?
Here are my cards I created for this contest.

Mood chart

June 29, 2008
Another great item that was included in kits 2 remember krew kit #5 was this chipboard wheel by Paper Trunk.
I had several fun ideas for this, but after realizing just how often my 4 year old's mood changes(hourly) I thought I would create this for him to help express his current mood to me.
I took 6 pictures of him showing me various facial expressions and trimemd them to fit in the wheel.
I removed the brad to separate the layers , to decorate each one individually, and used a bingo dabber to colour the large chipboard piece blue.
I decorated the smaller chipboard wheel with letter stickers, and hand drawn stars from patterned paper, then coloured in the remaining chipboard black with a sharpy.
Punched a hole at the top of the chart with my crop a dile, threaded ribbon through and added a small tag, where I applied a rubon.
Thanks for looking!!!!

Krew kit #5..

june 29/08
Today was the day to post my mini album with this kit from Kits 2 remember.
When i opened up the kit and saw the paper, I knew that this would work with my pictures of Sesame street live.
I kept the design of the album quite simple because the paper(Paper Trunk) and pictures were bright and busy enough.

another home project

I made a welcome card out of one sheet of cardboard.
Supplies used:
paint:Heidi Swapp
chipboard bird:Maya Road
patterned paper:little yellow bicycle
ink:Sraz on
letter stickers:Making Memories & Sassafras
other:Cardboard & ribbon and magic mesh
**I used that same house template(as from my other house project) traced it onto cardboard, cut it out, and inked around the edges.
I punched 6 holes along the left hand side(using my cropadile) and tied ribbon in each.
I used the eraser end of a pencil, dipped into paint and added polks dots all over the cardboard.
I added 2 strips of magic mesh, and painted a few streaks of black over it.

Trinkets box

June 29, 2008
Today was my last day as guest designer over at mon scrapbook, so I had to save my favourite creations for today.
I created this trinkets box for my son, using the storage box the Prima journaling cards(dude collection) came in.
This was a very simple project(the longest part was waiting for the paint on the inside to dry)
I liked the polka dots that were on the box, but I wanted to cover up the words, so I used a journaling card on the front and on the back to cover them up.
Other supplies:
epoxy stickers, patterned paper:Prima, dude collection
letter stickers:Doodlebug
paint:Making memories
pen:Zig millenium
