overcame another fear

May 31, 2008

Well last year I got over my fear of water, waterslides, etc, so this summer I needed to overcome a fear I have had since childhood....OPTOMETRISTS!!!!!
I don't know exactly when the fear started(Ive had it as long as i can remember) but this fear has intensified over the years.
I had not gotten my eyes checked in well over 13 years because I was terrified...So now with my glasses in such rough shape I knew it was time to grow up:)
I went to Sterling Optical in Grand Forks and had the best optometrist ever!!!! I warned her about my fears and she commented on my shaking(ha ahaa) but she was so great!!! She takled me through every step, and I can happily say this fear is no longer.
p.s. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses, so I will be picking them up on June 14.
She said my eyes were in pretty good shape considering how long I have neglected them, but my prescription did get quite a bit stronger(pretty much coke bottles..ha ahaa)

a pretty good week:

Aside from Si' misfortunes, this has been a good week for me

1)Excited about my goodies from my secret pal through Rhubarb Roots
2)Excited to work with the products Kerri from Rhubarb Roots dropped off for me to create some samples for the newsletter
3)Was asked to be a guest designer for www.monscrapbook.com for this month and June(i already received 2 VERY cool kits to create with to showcase over on their blog at www.ateliermonscrapbook.blogspot.com
It is a site over in Quebec!!
4)Heard that my Kits 2 remember kits are en route for me to work on over the summer
5)Received a cute little stamp set for winning layout of the day over at Scraptivity.

All I can say is READY, SET, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

still cute

Even without that tooth, and a skinned chin(from a neighbour kid) I still have the cutest little dude around!!!!! he eheee

Only a face a Mother could love:)

My 4 year old knocked out his front tooth, doing stupid boy? 4 year old? things!!!!!
Is it bad that I would have almost wished it had been anything other than a tooth??? The thought of him spending the next 3 or so years without that front tooth drives me batty.

Awesome RAK

For May, Rhubarb Roots held another secret swap RAK, and these are the awesome goodies my pal sent me:
*A slow cooker recipe book, where she altered the front and back cover
*yellow stickles
*Vintage photo distress ink(Ranger)
*Maya Road admit one stamps
*Grungeboard(To spell Silas' name)
*ribbon
*Glitz feathered journal rubons

***Thanks so much, Carla:)

"Oh the people You meet in Florida"
I created this with the arrow album for Kits 2 remember...It was my first time working with an arrow shaped album and it was SO COOL!!!! I was digging the arrow:)

Tribute to my Mom

As part of my DT assignment for Kits 2 remember, we were encouraged to work on a Mom album, and I am thankful for this because it was the inspiration I needed to finally create a tribute album to My Mom who passed away 13 years ago.
If you would like to see the rest of the album head over to Kits 2 remember.

The worst...

Picture of Me
BUT.....
HAPPY MOMMA'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was taken right after I got out of the shower and was waiting for my breakfast in bed(So My hair had not been brushed yet, yes I know..e.xcuses, excuses, but I never said I looked pretty in the mornings, lol)
I had a wonderful Mother's day.
I got breakfast in bed with some flowers, some games for my ps2(Dance dance revolution, rockband) a pink watch and a pink beanie baby.
Then I was invited to Si's sunday school class for a Mother's day program, which was so adorable, went out for chinese for lunch, and I would have to say that this was the BEST Mother's day I have ever had yet.
Thanks to Si for being such an amazing Boy....I could not be any luckier then to have this child in my life!!

so, what do u think?

Does my son remind you of his Momma? Maybe just a little? ha ahaa

I hope my...

family doesn't kill me, but we all had such a blast playing guitar hero that I had to share the best pictures from Saturday night!!!
It was my Dad's first time playing it(or so he says) but he was so awesome that secretly I think he spends his afternoons playing it..ha ahaa

Family togetherness

May 10/08
This was the first time since Si was 7 months old that we were able to get the ENTIRE family together for pictures and dinner.
We always have so much laughter and fun when we hang out...I am fortunate to have such an AMAZING family.
My lil guy is the opposite of me...I hate pictures, and Si thinks he has to be in EVERY picture, as you can see here where I tried to get a picture of me with My brother and My Dad:)

pics

I took of the cutest little guy(Si of course) now that he is 4 and a half.
I took them at the railroad tracks in town.

altered treasure..ha ahaa

Well because I spent NSD(National Scrapbooking day) having a garage sale I had to buy something that inspired me...It was a $5.00 find at the garage sale, and I spent this morning altering it...I added ribbon, Maya Road chipboard figurine, paint, bling and flowers.
I added 3 tealights to all 3 spots for the pillar candles until I can find choclate brown pillars to add.
I am going to put this in my new hot pink & choclate brown scraproom once I have the flooring in.
